Norquest Report

Search and Rescue Alberta in collaboration with NorQuest College is proud to release the Enhancing Volunteer Services: Developing Operational and Engagement Strategies for Search and Rescue Alberta Public Report, funded by NSERC 2017-2021.

Over the past 5 years many search and rescue personnel, stakeholders, and tasking agency partners have contributed to the focus groups, surveys, and interviews that provided the qualitative and quantitative data that forms the bulk of findings and recommendations in this research project. Search and Rescue Alberta is encouraged to discover that many of the findings and recommendations mirror past engagements with search and rescue personnel that have helped inform the direction of search and rescue in Alberta. This research project further proves that while significant work remains, we are on the right path, and the future of search and rescue in Alberta is bright. The key findings and recommendations form already established priorities for Search and Rescue Alberta with each representing a specific initiative Search and Rescue Alberta is actively pursuing.
