We are pleased to announce that on Sunday November 19, 2017, Cochrane Search & Rescue will be taking part in a Regional Mock Search in and around the town of Cochrane. The mock exercise will include members from local volunteer search and rescue groups (Cochrane, Calgary, Didsbury, Foothills and Badlands) as well as Provincial volunteer specialty teams such as the Canadian Search Dog Association.

In addition to these volunteer SAR professionals we will be joined by paid professionals (Tasking Agencies) from the RCMP, RCMP Police Dog Services, Alberta Parks and Cochrane Fire Services.

During the course of the day there will be three exercises running simultaneously and residents of Cochrane can expect to see a variety of vehicles and members working through the scenarios using various search, rescue and patient extraction techniques such as Drones, Equestrian, K9, Ground Teams and Technical Rescue.

Ultimately, the objective of the Mock is to ensure that our professional volunteers and tasking agents can deploy seamlessly together in order to ensure that “we work as one that others may live”.
