Big thank you to the Royal Canadian Air Force at 4 Wg Cold Lake and the 4 WgGSAR Team for the Exercise Frosted Flier 2019. 10 Candidates from Sundre, Greenview, Cold Lake, Calgary, Calling Lake, Whitecourt and Cold Lake Detachment of RCMP graduated some of the most severe weather conditions we have seen. Overnight low of -40C allowed these members the opportunity to understand how hard it is to live in a open front lean to. The balance between hot and cold, eating enough to sustain energy levels, ensuring complete hydration, body thermal regulation, firecraft, sheltercraft, proper clothing selection and many many more learning opportunities availed themselves in this 3 day Exercise.
I would also like to publicly thank the guest Instructors selected from around Alberta to help. They came from Rocky Mountain House Search and Rescue, Mountainview Search and Rescue, Cold Lake Search and Rescue and Edmonton Police.
As it takes some time to get the official photos back please enjoy the release of the Frosted Flier 2018 photos. #rcaf #searchandrescuealberta #rcmp #edmontonpolice
