This page will provide information about becoming a member of Search & Rescue Alberta, if you are interested in becoming an individual SAR Responder please click here.

SAR Alberta is technically an Association of Associations. At this time there are two types of memberships, regular members and associate members.

Regular members must be a registered charitable organization in good standing that have been voted into SAR Alberta during an Annual General Meeting. Individuals become members through their group or Association – and must be members in good standing of their own group.

Regular members are allowed to vote at meetings, bring representatives forward to sit on regional and provincial boards and committees, and will be eligible for the upcoming insurance package, among other things. There is a $150 fee for regular members.

Associate members are organizations that support the organization in principle and are often key stakeholders and partners, including government organizations, police, and related SAR disciplines. Associate members are not allowed to vote at meetings and are not charged the annual membership fee..
